I don't want my age/ location to be displayed, help?
Mae govannen, I'm basically what you call a "noob" with this site, so please excuse me! I'm fine with it showing that I live in the USA, but I don't want it showing the city, and I don't want my age displayed, so how do I change this? I went on my profile and tried to change it but couldn't. Thanks! Bear with me while I get used to this site, I'm a native from theonering.net ** Arwen

Tell that to the 999679% of the users on FaceBook,YouTube, and MySpace, because 999679% of them have false ages because they are too young.

For the record, if you lie about your age and turn out to not fall in the age restrictions put forth by the Terms Of Service, your profile could be removed for that violation. Just an FYI.

Hi, Arwen--
Another alternative would be to make up a fake age and location. That's what I've been doing since the onset of identity theft. Plus, I got tired of people always saying "You're HOW old?" ok

Arwen - Hi, & welcome to the Board.

I can give you a few pointers on your queries:

Regarding age, if you click on "more" at the top left of the screen (next to profile/mail,) then on the pull-down menu choose "Account". Then choose "Privacy" and you will be able to select the option "do not show my age".

As for location, you can of course put just your State, rather than city. That's what I did.

Alternatively, whilst in the "Privacy" settings window, choose " Let only my friends see my complete profile" and your personal info will be hidden to everyone apart from those you agreed to be friends with.
