Bilbo and the Ring

You know, I have a beef. In the book, (The Hobbit). Bilbo comes across the ring while groping around in the dark, notices that he has found a ring and puts it in his pocket almost reflexively, forgetting about it till the riddle game.

In the movie, as shown by the flashback in The Fellowship, they are going to play it like he was mezmerized from the get go, all insta slave in action. What are some of your thought's on Bilbo's realtionship with The One Ring?

I agree with that, but as we know, The Silmarillion wasn't as clear on these things. As I believe was the same with the appendices, which is what I am guessing the second film is based apon. :)

It should be portrayed just the way it is in the book. No more - no less.

Well, I think it may be difficult to portray his steady near consumption by the Ring. As in the Hobbit novel, there's no real signs of an addiction yet. I would guess this will be touched on in the second film, be there one. Or, am I wrong about that?
