Something is coming. . . . December 8
I feel somewhat dissapointed. A blu-ray release of only the theatrical versions and a new Aragorn video-game that looks like a Japanese comic book. Some more urgency concerning the Hobbit films please. When is this script getting greenlit? Filming has to start next year, or they are behind on schedule.... more

They should come up with the cast by now, if the plan is to start shooting early next year. I'm getting very excited now. Finally, there will be something for the world to really talk about.... more

The hobbit will span two movies, no bridge movie
This is great news, because it means they're not going too far from Tolkien's original material. I guess GDT and PJ found out, after some writing, that their ideas for the second movie didn't work. I like the fact that they're going to film The Hobbit in the same style as the trilogy, in that way it connects better. Most likely, the elements that made The Hobbit a childrens book are being left out.... more

Casting for The Hobbit movies
I've heard the 'Ian Holm remembering the past thing' very frequently now and I honestly don't think it is a good idea. The Hobbit should stand on his own and just begin with Bilbo smoking his pipe in his garden, just before Gandalf passes by. What casting is concerned, I read some rumours that Bilbo was to be announced around this time of year. But that was some while ago, so I'd have to look up those articles someday.     I hope the result of the upcoming moviemaking process will be as satisfaying as LOTR was. In my personal opinion these two Hobbit-movies should really show the same mysterious atmosphere as 'the Fellowship' showed. Furthermore, they should stick to the design and feel of the previous Middle-Earth films, but still bring some new and surprising ellements to it. Meanwhile, the fans can enjoy these beautiful times.
